Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or HBOT, is a healing modality used at Eric A. Smith Chiropractic. HBOT delivers 100% oxygen to a patient’s pulmonary system while they are in a pressurized chamber. Basically, the patient is breathing oxygen at levels far greater than that which is found in a normal room atmosphere. HBOT has been found to stimulate oxygenation, angiogenesis (new blood cell formation), and improve and promote neurogenesis ( new nerve growth) in the brain.
